YCC Work Placement Partnerships
Partner With Us and Support Canada’s Youth Workforce
Help make a meaningful difference in the lives of Canadian youth and build a bright future for Canada’s growing workforce.
About Work Placement Partnerships
We partner with employers across British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario to offer meaningful work experience placements for youth aged 18-30 who are building toward long-term employment success.
While many participants are excited about roles in the outdoors, parks, or environmental sectors, others are interested in a wide variety of fields – including hospitality, retail, food service, trades, arts and culture, nonprofits, and community services.
These placements not only give youth the opportunity to build real-world experience, professional networks, and industry-relevant skills, but they also offer employers the opportunity to access motivated, pre-trained candidates for up to 14 weeks of partially subsidized employment.
Why Partner With Us?
Employers who participate in the YCC program benefit in several ways:
How It Works: Step-by-Step
Step 1: Contact Us
Let us know if you are interested in hosting a work placement and the entry-level roles you need to fill.

We provide a package with key details, including:
- An overview of the YCC program and its curriculum.
- Employer resources, training, and support options.
- Expectations and responsibilities of employers.

Step 3: Participant Matching
We send you a Participant Profile summarizing the skills and background of one or more potential candidates.
Step 4: Interviews Arranged
We coordinate interviews between you and potential candidate(s).
Step 5: Work Placement Confirmation & Logistics Finalization
Once both you and the candidate agree on the placement:
- Employer contact details, job descriptions, start date, hours, wages, and payment frequency are finalized.
- We arrange additional participant training, certifications, and accommodations that may be required.
- Employers receive an orientation with specific resources and training.
Step 6: Welcome Package Sent
You receive:
- A formal work placement contract.

Support documents, including:
- First-day and/or training checklists.
- Wage subsidy reimbursement forms.

Step 7: Work Placement Begins
During the placement:
- The participant receives mentorship and coaching from a YCC Facilitator.
- Employers have access to ongoing support and resources.
- A mid-placement check-in allows for reciprocal feedback and adjustments to ensure success.
After the Placement: What’s Next?
- Employers provide references or a job offer where possible.
- We assist with identifying additional subsidies for employers interested in extending employment.
