Paddle Canada Intro Lake Instructor/Advanced Coastal Canoe

This is a dual certification course meant to prepare individuals to learn to lead groups in a canoe tripping context in ocean environments. If successful on the course, you will receive two Paddle Canada certifications –  Intro to Lakewater Canoe Instructor and Advanced Coastal Canoe Skills.

This combination of courses is the standard that Outward Bound Canada uses as a baseline for those working as instructors in this discipline. The theoretical component of the Advanced Coastal Canoe Skills course is comparable to that taught on the Assistant Overnight Guide course (sea kayak).

Eligibility Requirements

Please only apply for this course if you have the following Paddle Canada (or equivalent) prerequisites:

OPTION A
1) Paddle Canada Intermediate Lake Canoe Skills (or equivalent)
AND
2) Intro Coastal Canoeing Skills 
(Note that if you have completed the Coastal Canoe Essentials course you will have these prerequisites).

OR

OPTION B
1) You have completed the Essentials Sea Kayak course (or AOG or higher)
AND
2) You have Paddle Canada Intermediate Lake Canoe Skills (or equivalent)
